2023 - Student Project
The Old Plague Doctor has set out on his adventure to find the herbs needed to finish his cure to the bubonic plague currently sweeping Europe. Located deep within this great manors underground dungeons, is the final herb he's looking for. Can you rise back to the top after such a treacherous journey?
Plague Walker is a fast paced 2D side scrolling platformer set in a gothic castle and underground dungeons. The game features an easy to learn hard to master approach to player mechanics. The player is constantly tested in combat, reaction time, platforming and decision making. The game features 10 levels for the player to run through fight or flight? It's your choice.

This module took place in the spring of 2023. I was tasked with creating a 2D side scrolling platformer in unity. Similar to the module where I created Kitchen Nightmares a year prior, the first half of this module where spent on completing a different 2D platformer as a tutorial for unity and scripting in C#. This was my second game made in an engine and it served as great experience managing time, learning C#, learning unity and practicing designing a game.
When designing Plague Walker I wanted to make a challenging and punishing game which rewarded players who could master the mechanics. To do this I designed levels which require precision jumping mixed with fast paced and unforgiving combat which tests the player reaction times and decision making.
